Hurricane Recovery Resources from St. Pete Chamber Members
The St. Petersburg Chamber Sustainability Committee toured the damage in Ft. Myers from Hurricane Ian in 2023 and brought back many lessons learned about how to prepare and best practices for dealing with the aftermath of a storm. Our community did not think we would need to deploy these resources so soon.
The biggest takeaways included to file your FEMA claim right away, research SBA loans for both residential and businesses, "always buy chamber" and don't forget to check up on your neighbors to lend a helping hand.
Just one year after Hurricane Idalia devastated 1,500+ homes in St. Petersburg, Hurricane Helene roared through the community and affected 9000+ residences. As of October 1st, across Pinellas County there were 28,000 houses assessed including 267 destroyed and 16,561 with major damage.
