The St. Petersburg community is invited to a memorable evening of Cuban-inspired fun and philanthropy at the Havana Nights event, hosted by Red Mesa Events in memory of Dana Veytia. This lively fundraising event, taking place on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, will be held at the vibrant Red Mesa Cantina, located at 128 3rd St. S, in downtown St. Petersburg.

Havana Nights promises an evening filled with Havana-themed light bites, signature cocktails, a silent auction, raffle, and a cash bar—all to support the Children’s Dream Fund. Attendees can enjoy the atmosphere of Red Mesa Cantina while contributing to a cause that helps fulfill the dreams of children battling life-threatening illnesses.

An Evening for a Cause: Fishing for Dreams

This year’s Havana Nights event holds a special purpose. All ticket sales and raffle proceeds will go towards funding a Disney cruise for a brave young boy who recently underwent a heart transplant. The Children’s Dream Fund is dedicated to bringing joy and hope to children in need, and this year's event will help make one child’s dream come true.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in several fundraising activities. The silent auction includes a highly anticipated prize: a private dinner for ten with Chef Chris Fernandez of Red Mesa. Additionally, many local businesses have generously donated items for the raffle, including contributions from The Body Electric and The Imagine Museum, both Chamber Member businesses.

About the Children’s Dream Fund

The Children’s Dream Fund was established in 1981 with the sole mission of fulfilling dreams for children aged 3-21 who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses and reside in West Central Florida. Over the years, the organization has made dreams come true for more than 4,000 children. Whether it’s a trip, a meeting with a favorite celebrity, or even the chance to visit Give Kids the World Village in Orlando, the Dream Fund’s goal is to bring joy and hope to children facing difficult medical journeys.

The Children’s Dream Fund operates independently, without affiliation to any national organization, and does not engage in telemarketing to raise funds. Impressively, 87% of all donations go directly to making children’s dreams come true, with over half of all dream costs covered by in-kind donations.

By attending Havana Nights, you can be part of this incredible effort to bring hope and happiness to children who need it most.

Why You Should Attend:

Havana Nights is more than just an event—it’s a chance to give back, celebrate the strength of our community, and support a cause that changes the lives of children in need. By purchasing a ticket, participating in the silent auction or raffle, or simply attending to enjoy the evening, you will be directly helping a child experience a dream come true.

Join the community at Red Mesa Cantina on September 26th, and let’s work together to create magic for those who deserve it most.
